Its all in the antenna, not all in the CB
-
WELL .....
The antenna is going to make or break a station but a crappy radio can cause problems too ... -
There's a HUGE variety of CBs and antennas available. It would help if you had certain features that were important for both CB and antenna, as well as a price line.

The new Uniden 880 with a Wilson 2000 trucker has served me well so far even with a bit high SWR..
If you don't know how to properly install it, take the time to do the research or pay a GOOD shop to do it. you will thank yourself in the end.
Also, there are alot of good folks here that can give you some good advise and some that go on and on and on and on... and think they know what there talking about guess that's the nature of an internet forum. Bottom line is that the only stupid question is the one that you didn't ask. We are not all experts at everything that's why there are places like this to ask and learn. -
Thinking ......
how much groundplane do you have under the antenna ......
My Corolla is small enough that that is a problem ... -
I have a dodge durango that is based on the dakota frame that is a minature dodge ram frame..
I am pretty sure as soon as i replace my coax with decent stuff ill get a good SWR as i already got 1.3:1 with my friends coax. -
AH .....
The old gold plated coax trick ....

Manager, if you just need a basic CB, the Cobra 25 is hard to beat. Same goes for the Uniden PC 68.
WA4GCH Thanks this.
