You need to speak to a tax attorney about the way you've been advised on how to run your business ASAP. The IRS would be very happy to give you free counseling however I must tell you to be prepared to write lots of checks to them.
Good luck.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

If it is a Fed Ex straight truck job, he can actually pay them as a 1099 because they book their own freight and run where they want to. They are not dispatched or under the control of an employer. trust me, fed ex already went threw all the IRS stuff.
Not saying this person has everything set-up right, but if they run their business the same way as the other fleet owners for Fed Ex CC then it is perfectly legal.MazelTruck Thanks this. -
Ok, that makes sense, He was saying "my drivers", "I'm a 1099 employer", instead he could have just said "I rent trucks to people". That is what it is.
