U-haul has furniture pads for $7.95 each. Great for coils. If you have an odd shaped machine load you might be better off using rubber skids used for hauling batteries.

I just looked at Peaks Tarps and they have the Cordura. Im pretty interested in these. Do they fold up just like regular vinyl ? I see they are lighter weight and more durable so I am thinking a 3 piece set for my 53 ft step I have now. Also, do you have any experience with them in the cold (are they stiff or what) and freezing? Any help would be appreciated and if all is good I will be getting these

That guy at Peaks will make them anyway U want! 3 piece is way to go for handling Cordura is more like canvas than vinyl it stays like cloth when cold I am going to order another set myself with exta D rings down the top(length) 6 ft apart so I can use for flat loads like steel Also only 6 ft drop with 2 ft skirt . That way I only need 2 pc set Very light and EZ to handle

I appreciate the info. Yeah I was thinking about drop length and was wondering about that skirt. Is it a big PITA or good to have around? I like your idea about the extra set of D rings, think I will do that too. Peaks is definitely going to get my business

As in where to get? These guys are closer to you http://www.guthriesales.com/main_menu.html for the rubber rope. I use some rubber rope but mostly 21 inch bungees as my loads are never the same and never nice and box shaped.

I never had a problem with parachute sides, don't need 3 piece with them if I remember right the 2 piece tarps each piece weighs about the same as the center section of a normal 3 piece set

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I'm probably going back to decks and my tarps are shot and old VERY heavy vinyl. How is everybody making out with the peaks tarps? Are you using the standard ones or the cheaper ones? I'm about to sign on with a small local company not a lot of trucks great guys have a friend made the move late last yr and can't say enough about them. Any ways thanks for the replys!

Wow Peaks Tarps are fast. 3pc 10 ft drops 4 rows of d rings $1160. Price seems great. Still would like to get some feedback on the cordura tarps I understand you have to pad them more I have a butt load of packing blankets so that should be ok. Will be meeting with the mgr of the company I'm looking at this fri or Monday hopefully get this nailed down.
