I guess I need to look at my W-2 as well for last year. I could have sworn that I made over 80k working Monday thru Friday during the day with weekends off and home every afternoon by 3:30 or so?

Yep, I was right. It was just like I stated. Chalk another one up to okieboy being wrong.

AT seems to have missed the fact u have a family. He has great points...but his suggestions are missing the family concerns in my opinion. Not all training companies are the same! But choosing swift and knight because they have local paid training will sentence u to long stays at not so great situations. Roehl could be a good choice, 3 week school in WI... 20 days with trainers and ur on ur own. Schnieder could be an option too. Some others.... Prime,Gordon... Just saying.... Going to a decent company with driver training would be a small sacrifice... Compared to the swift/knight option in my opinion... Good luck!

I am just more confused now then when I started thinking about doing this.
I not giving up on trying to get that grant or possibley hit up my dad for the money.

I'm calling BS okie. It depends on what our definition of "lot of money" is. Whydontchahey mentioned some great companies. I'd like to further rec. Watkins Shepard, JBS Carriers, US Xpress, and Crete/Shaffer.
