Anyone currently hauling flatbed for BTC-LLC out of TN? I would like your input on how they are all in all. I figure starting at 39 cpm and moving up to 41 after a year is better than starting at 30 cpm and only being at 34 cpm after a year... I live in southern IL, which is near the freight lanes for most companies, and shows up on their map. Input?

I worked there until I found a local job. Good company to work for. I got home every weekend and never had any problems with pay or reimbursements.

How were they miles wise? can you easily get 2k miles a week? What about 2500? 3k?
I know there are tarping fees and etc that increase the take home pay (tarping 5 times can be like 300 miles), so what can you expect on average take home from BTC?
I'm honestly not too worried about being home every weekend, and if it would be more profitable to me to work weekends and just use that as an option (to go home for a weekend if i wanted to) that would be awesome. -
Spring and summer 2500-3k wont be a problem. It slows down some in the winter and you can expect around 2k +/-. Not all loads are going to be tarped. Most pipe and ibeam loads were just secure and roll. I rarely ever hauled lumber. They are on elogs now so i dont know how many miles you can get now. I was on paper and used it to my advantage.

What kind of rigs are they running now? I saw an old thread from 08 said they were running mostly freightliners and a few internationals, but that they were upgrading to all Macks. Has that happened yet or are they still in the process? how is the quality of equipment?
-
I was in an 06 freightliner. They still have a few FLs but are transitioning to an all mack fleet. I cant speak for the macks but my FL was well maintained and reasonably comfortable but way underpowered. Top speed was 65.

I figured they would be governed. The only thing I'm reluctant about going with them for is because they don't go west. I plan on moving to WY in a couple years and would like to take my job with me.

No not much freight going that way. I think watkins shepard is based out of montana. Unless you are dead set on flat bedding you may want to check them out.

Watkins Has a flatbed devision too.....
