I understand patience. I learned a lot in my 5 weeks. But I don't have the patience when other ppl have been out as long as I have and they can't even back up. They don't know turns or setups.

I feel the frustration there. But remember that not all trainers should be trainers and many slip through the cracks. I personally wake my student up to back every single dock and spot. He gets mad.... I don't give a rip. He's backed up like 30 times In the last two weeks and his set up still sucks big fat rhinosourus dong..... Sheesh.. 30 more, here we come!Dieselten77, Corporal_Clegg, Jarhed1964 and 1 other person Thank this.

Lol. Yeah my trainer was the same way. But I got the backing down.
Patience is the big key and I understand.
You can't fix stuiped though.
Glad to here te bad will be gone soon.
I hope some of these people in here never drive where I live.
I still don't think that some of these people understand the danger and risks of driving these trucks -
Neither my 5 week trainer or my finish trainer would let me back. I bet that between both of them I backed 4 times maybe. When I would ask they would say "we are in a rush. I'll let you back next time." I do blame myself for letting this happen though. Truth be known, I didnt even bump the NE dock.
Anyway, failed the backing test but passed the next day to get into grad. Once on my own I could back pretty good. It seems that the more challenging the backing was, the better I did. I couldnt straight back as easily as some of the tricky stuff. -
I guess this is just one of those days for me.
In the dock for the third time for them to adjust the weight on this load.
Gross is OK, but heavy on the drives.
Complicated by the Pilot Cat scale being out of linear.
First weigh, 12,100 on steers. Move tandems 2 notches. Now steers are 12,960.
Went around and weighed again...12,120.
Went around again...12,460.
Went to Loves...12, 200.
Oh for joy!
I've put 12 miles on this truck and haven't done anything but weigh!
And the clock just keeps ticking.... -
What states are you going to be running? An often repeated bit of misinformation is 12,000 is the limit, but in truth only in a few states is this true. Check the weight limits in the front of your road atlas.
-
Front axle is limited by the axle rating, and tire rating. On my tractor that is 12,350.
-
I would imagine his is close to the same. Why does Stevens spec so low? Is it the tires or the axle, or a combination? So he should just go back to 12,100 I guess.
-
Tires are the limiting factor.
