Guess I will be finding out soon enough... Thanks for all the info, but my question to a driver was If you are in the southwest region or any other region do you stay within your region or sent out alot into other regions, like north east , mid west Texas
    etc.
Just trying to find out all I can so not to have too many surprizes. I like the idea that this board seems not too active in the complaint department,,,,, Iwill take that as a Good sign... Thanks

I am looking at going to work at Heartland and running the Texas regional. Would appriciate any input on miles and the company overall. I have 17 yrs OTR and have worked for some of the worst outlaw companies around and I am kinda looking forward to E-LOGS. I have read comments concerning inverters, was wondering has it changed and if they offer a rider policy?I was also wondering if the trucks are still standard shift or have they gone to automatics and what they are governed at?

thanks for the info. I am waiting to hear from them, I am supposed to hear from them by noon today. all I have is a small cig. lighter inverter, just not sure what the policy was. if anyone knows about the Texas regional, I would appriciate any feedback. From everything I have heard and read, people overall seems happy over there at heartland, but as we all know, you cant all be happy.

Just curious. What are they "doing" to fix the inverter issue. Thats really the only thing that keeps me from sending in an App. I prefer higher pay and lower miles and haul a lot of UPS/Fed Ex already.

they just told me it was an issue they would not address any further. I decided to stay with pulling chemicals and be home more often. At least I can have an inverter and can idle my truck for comfort. I hired on with QC (Quality Carriers) and the pay is better too. Be safe out there.:Tank truck:

I live in western NY and run out of Columbus.
Carlisle is the terminal in PA. I have talked to some drivers in that area that are doing ok. But Those seem to live closer to the terminal or major shippers. So kind of hit or miss. The mileage rate for NE regional is the highest in the company. Same as system drivers I believe. And all drivers get an extra .04 cpm for all miles driven East of I-81. So that helps allot.
I just do not know if the average driver in the area gets a ton or miles. If I were in the Eastern half of PA I would be talking to them about a Salary position. Since those pay 1000 per week, or mileage. Whichever is higher. That way you know you have steady money coming in. But you have to live in particular lanes or areas to get on salary.
That is about all I know about that region. I kind of get screwed every time I head over that way. Since I will have a planned load out, before I go. And always seem to loose it once I am in the area.
And I do not get the same mileage rate as NE region guys. So not worth it to me.
