I saw alot of guys getting into the Prostars...I had 1 and it drove fine but it seemed to not seal very good around the doors and the wind blew right thru it.I love the looks of the KW's but never drove one.My buddy had a 780 Volvo and he had a table. He liked it for the room but then again he was 6'10".....lol

HHonestly untill you have money in bank imho 5k. Then think long and hard about the lease. I don't have the hard numbers to back up this, but I am guessing around 65% fail there lease. Can it be done yes but with a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. Why they fail to numerous to list but all boils down too not treating it like a business. Because in end its not how much you make, but how much you keep. What ever you decide good luck........ I like the kenworths

I'd agree too. It's tough enough to keep rolling as a co. drvr sometimes and there's no guarantee on miles when u get into a lease...That leaves the door wide open for failure if ur not making money to cover that lease.Be careful.....and good luck

Co. drivers are getting low miles?

In the last 6 weeks I averaged about 2350 miles a week INCLUDING 2 short weeks, about 2800 miles a week if I discount the short weeks.

I am a l/o, and have been staying right at 2800/wk, which is where I want to be. During the slow season, I was still staying at 2500/wk. I have it figured, that at 1200/miles, my truck payment and all ins and first tank of fuel is payed for. After that, the only expense is the fuel the rest of the week, and at 2500/mls week, still bring a decent check home. One thing that lots of is do, put about .10/mi into a separate maint. acct. That is your money do use as needed. If builds up fast, and if a slow week, you can always transfer some of the money to help with truck payment. I use it when go on vacation for two weeks.

I did a print out of my last 6 weeks then did quick and dirty calculations of how I would have fared if I had been on a leased truck. What I found was that for the 4 weeks I where averaged about 2845 miles a week I would have made between $200-500 more a week with a leased truck. I did this knowing that I would have never accepted some of the loads I ran as a company driver had I been on my own truck.
