When do you take delivery? Apologies if you've already posted that somewhere else I've missed it. Must be nice. Some day if I ever get a new one it'll be a glider, more likely I'll always be purchasing used and running them forever.

I take deivery in July

Not true. You could do that in a 379, but not in a 389. The shifter floor plate is reversed in the 389, and the stick comes up way in the front of the plate, not in the rear, like a 379 does.

My glider is due in early/mid July. Would have been sooner, but Schneider and others choked up the system with a batch of glider orders. Dealer wanted to get mine in the system even before we had totally finalized specs and he had my deposit for fear that one of the big carriers would dump another large order in the system and cause even more delay. -
Hey cowpie,is your dealer doing final assembly. And is there assembly price firm. My local western star dealer is a little vague on this. -
Let's hear more details!!!!
7" Wide stainless tank straps?
Straight one color or did you do the old style paint scheme.
You said Hendrickson suspension. Which did you use the HAS, Primaax EX? -
FL is putting most all of it together at the factory. Dealer is doing basically the final "touch up" assembly like driveshafts, installing and painting air dam on top, putting on exhaust stacks, etc. If you are spec'ing a factory rebuilt engine and tranny, FL will get them and install them at the factory. Otherwise, if you have your own to put in, it will be done at the dealer end, but FL will supply all the wiring harness', plumbing, and other stuff with the glider since they should know at order time what engine/tranny you are putting in. I like having most of the stuff just done at the factory at assembly to reduce chance for a screw up. Since this is a required step to have the dealer put the finishing touches on the kit, not sure that part is negotiable that much. I guess it would depend on how much the dealer is doing with any glider a person orders. In my case, the dealer is only doing the minimum needed to get the truck completed. Since WS is basically Daimler along with FL, the process should be virtually identical.
I suppose, you could take delivery and finish up the truck yourself. Nothing says you can't do that if cost for the dealer finishing is an issue. But the final "assembly" for mine is basically the same thing that a regular new truck would go thru once it got to the dealer. Kinda like the "dealer prep" that gets tacked on at a car dealership.DrtyDiesel, JDP and Cat sdp Thank this. -
it will look exactly like that 1 except lights on top of the sleeper and without the fairing on the back of sleeper and 5 inch pipes instead of the big wons

and the primax

Dern right. If I don't make it home, I get a motel room. I spend enough time in that truck when I'm working....when it's time to stop, I want to park it & get away from it for a little while.
Only Hendrickson suspension I'd spec on a new truck is the AR2...but I'd prefer the Air Link by Raydan Manufacturing...available in heavier weight ratings than the AR2.
