I am guessing that you went to a Schneider approved truck school then.. If you went to an approved school, then SNI will take you with 0 experience. If you went to a random "funny-farm" CDL school then you would need the 6 months experience.

Can you be a little more specific? What do you want to show about your delivery time to avoid short trips? Dou you want to show available to run "0" hours?AfterShock Thanks this.

That averages out to around 140,000 miles a year. Whomever had it prior to you didn't wear out the driver's side door hinges. Drive like that and you'll have collected an equal number of mile markers yourself. Coverin', on average, 140,000 miles a year, figure 7 ---> 7 1/2 years to reach a million.
By then, maybe even a new Big truck will feel old and old Big trucks feel new.
I'd think that Schneider's maintenance is doin' their job, especially with keepin' the units that've been rode hard and put up wet roadworthy. It's not so much the miles that count the most, but rather how those miles were put on.
And brand new Big trucks can be a pain in the buttox tryin' to work the bugs out of 'em, ...... if they ever do. I've seen a brand new Freightliner Classic delivered with a leaky roof that soaked the bunk. And a wire loom missing to connect the A/C and heater controls in the bunk area. After the repairs, and days in the shop, there were squeaks and rattles that weren't there before the bunk was torn apart to install the wire loom and the roof leak fixed. All in all it took 'bout six months to get it all right.
Here's the kicker, ........ when that Big Classic was traded in for a new Big truck 'bout three years later with 'round a half million miles on the Odometer, (part time team truckin' with wife), it was in perfect runnin' order for the next owner.
I'll bet he/she was pleased.

I so totally disagree with this poster! I have been with Schneider for almost 5 years, teaming with my husband, first in dedicated and now 6 months OTR. Schneider is a huge operation, and as such has minor problems as does ANY company. Finding trailers, working through various new implementations, etc. But overall, we get our miles, are treated with respect and when we do have a problem we are usually helped out with it from start to finish with a resolution. Schneider is a GREAT company to start with, as a new driver, to get your OTR experience with. No company is perfect, and frankly any company is only as good as the type of people it hires, and the core values it stresses.
grusco, BlackLions, AfterShock and 1 other person Thank this. -
Agreed! Great company to start with, lots of different accounts/routes, good miles, lots of training for newbies.

Well guys and gals Im just getting started and joining the Schneider National. I have a BIG question, is it worth driving teams(with someone you know) for this company? And why and in what ways?
-
You learn a lot and can always ask questions with someone there, that is if the other person has been driving for awhile. The bad, you see that person everyday, and that might get to you after awhile... Its hard to find a good match, even if you know the person, you'll know him/her even better after you've teamed for awhile - not necessary a good thing
You get more miles as a team and more money on your check, supposedly
Either way, schneider is a good starting company with lots of good help and great people. If you never done otr its good to have a big company behind you that has a good safety record.
Good luck to you
