Years ago they upgraded the coops on I-74 in Indiana coming out of Ohio. the nice big electronic signs are readable driving by at night. One night I'm driving by since they were closed and the nice big sign said.

Not sure about now, but in February of 2011, the sign which controlled the "open or closed" for the northbound scale on 97 in Goldendale WA was mounted on one of those spring-loaded construction zone stands.
