oilfield rookie wannabe!

Im looking to get a job that will give me a 1500 take home a week wireline cement driving doesnt matter

 

They're out there. Even some driving. No problem.

 

Wow, after reading through most of this thread, drivers don't make alot down in the states. Even in the oilpatch of Texas.

I work for an oilfield transportation company in Alberta. Started end of November, making 18/hr as a picker truck swamper. I was just bumped up to 22/hr.

I don't have my cdl/class 1 as of yet. I've been driving with my operator now for a few months.

I just can't believe how little pay you guys make.

 

Our cost of living is also pretty cheap down here. I can support a four person family and a four bedroom home on 70000 and still have 10000-15000 thousand left over. And that's in a nicer suburb of Dallas.

 

Not everyone. I have been out here 1 year and make $26 an hour and am averaging 85 hours a week. Just gotta keep looking

 

Hey folks I'm new here trying to catch my bearings, Ill be going to school for my CDL, then on to drive water tanker in the lol field. I've never driven anything but my rather in laws dodge with a 28 ft fema trailer on the back of... which I guess is good since I didn't wreck!
At any rate, I'm a newbie in every since if the term, let's just say I've never worn jeans to a job except on "casual fridays"!!! Going to school in New Mexico, seems like going to basic training all over again and driving water tanker ...I think I just learned what fracking was a few weeks ago.. any advice certainly would be welcome, I'm a fish out of water, wait no fish can swim how about a rock in water...yeah

yep same here calling me telling me app looks good then get in state no go but its ok got lucky and went to Nabors first and glad i did driving to ozona i get a ring from Thomas petro offering me a warehouse gig?? wtf um thanks but no thanks....anyways it all worked out. Crazy the amount of Cdl jobs being offered in Texas.
