Just thought I'd give props to Werner to electing to put APU's in the greater majority of their fleet to combat high fuel rather then lowering their fleet's speed. As of yet... >.>

When I worked for Werner, they had idling regulations for their regular trucks....and they had APU regulations for their APU-equipped trucks.

I'm with Werner and they are getting away from APU's because of the cost in repairing them. They say the drivers are not taking care of them. Most of thier newer trucks do not have APU's while several of thier older trucks do have APU's. The newer trucks are set up to IDLE at 76 degrees or higher and Idle at 30 degrees or lower in colder weather. But like any other company Werner frowns on a high Idle rate. And Werner requires all drivers to send in thier MPG readings off thier qualcoms every tuesday so they can keep up with how much each driver is idling. I figure they already know what your mpg is they should have access to that off your qualcom especially the newer qualcoms they are putting in thier trucks. I guess they are just checking to see if your being honest in most cases. I know I have a 2012, 386 Pete and it is a peice of ##### with no APU ... It is a very stripped down version of the Pete... And I have had to put it in the shop several times already...
