Well, congrats! Best of luck! Western Pacific is a great school, I went in Sac!
I loved the instructors, and we had some fun there! Just remember, they will try to stuff SO much info into your head, and I didn't feel like I could remember anything by the time we went to get the permits, but it was all right there when I sat down in front of the test! I was amazed when I actually walked out with the permit! LOL![]()

Yep, it's a lot of info.
We did air brakes today, which they say is the hardest test.
Since I have an automotive background, I found it pretty simple.
A recruiter from Werner came in today and gave his pitch.
Sounds like a good company if you believe anything a recruiter says, which I do not. Whatever they are selling, it's the best, right?
We shall see... -
Got my permit today.
Also got all 3 endorsements.
Good to go.
A lot of guys failed the air brakes test for some reason.
To me it was the simplest part of the whole thing.
Nothing to it.
We start driver training Monday, and I should be licensed by June 4th.
Definitely going for a boat ride this weekend. -
Right on man! Congrats!! Now its on to the fun stuff!
Enjoy the boat this weekend, its definitely been hot enough for a trip to the lake. I've been cooling off in the pool this week.jet460 Thanks this. -
Thanks.
Modesto reservoir is down about 6 feet right now, so I might have to go to Woodward....if it's any better.
The boat has all new wiring, new motor, and is all buffed and waxed waiting for me.
I'm ready.
Can't wait to smell some diesel exhaust next week. -
We did log books today.
To put it mildly, it was the longest 4 hours of my life.
Having crappy math skills, a bad memory, and extremely sloppy penmanship made this a complete nightmare for me.
They tell us that elogs will be the norm eventually, but who knows....
I guess it will get easier the more you do it, but the log book thing is a complete mindf%*# to me.
My brain is cooked right now.
I need a nap. -
If the boat you're talking about is the one i your signature that's a sick lookin boat! Man I bet it's A LOT of fun!

I know what you mean, logs can seem like a pain when you first start out but the more you do it the more you'll get used to it so it'll get easier. You'll be doing logs everyday for the rest of the class so you'll get used to it pretty quick. A lot of companies are using e logs now and more are switching over all the time but you never know who you'll go with so it's best to know how to do the paper logs.jet460 Thanks this. -

So, we leave tonight for Claremont for Covenant Orientation. Wish us luck!
Sounds like you guys are doing good.
Yes, log books suck, but after a while, and trial and error (believe me) you will get it. But, they have you do it every day, so it will be better after a while. -
The Covenant recruiter came to our class this week.
If you want to run teams, that's all they do.
Good luck. -
Good luck blue! I really hope it works out for you there. Everyone has different experiences with every company so just because someone else had a bad time there doesnt mean you will. It could be the perfect company for you guys. Stay positive an work hard and I'm sure you'll do fine.
Stay safe out there!
