Oh I had no animosity towards Gizmo, I just feel the more I ask, the more I learn. Is running 14 hr days pretty common?

It's almost impossible to (plan) how many hours you will drive a day. This is based on shippers and receivers, your appointments and how long you have to get from one to another. Sometimes you will have some extra time and most of the time you have just enough. It also depends on the time of day you are unloading or loading. As far as Truck Stop attorneys goes, wellllllll----.

That's when u plan ahead. You look at your hrs and if you feel you may not have enough time to get loaded/unloaded and find a safe haven, you call the cust and ask them if they have overnight trk parking.I've had to cancel many load because they did'nt have trk parking and the time of day it was.The later it gets the less trk parking you're going to find. Then you get out in the heartland of the east coast you better have a load that lds/unloads early in the morning.

lol, was over in Albany, GA not too long ago, drove some REAL fun midnight to noon shifts. Never seen so many rest areas crammed like I did on the way to PA.

ok, so when you bring up shippers/receivers, would you say thats where a lot of 8/2 happen? still trying to understand that, even been reading on this forum.

The only definition of a "Safe Haven" by the FMCSA refers to a place where 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 explosives may be parked and unattended by the drivers. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regu...fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=397.5&guidence=Y
It has nothing to do HOS and parking to comply with them. -
