I got a good deal on a 48 van today. Are they usable? I wont know till tomorrow if its a 96 or 102. Do all brokers and shippers let you know if a 48 can be used?

The standard is 53' x 102" so you could be hard pressed there... especially if it is 96" wide, then you're really SOL or up #### creek without a paddle.
-
I think maybe for local or LTL work it would be cool
-
We ran our 51 foot until 2 years ago.........

Looking at internet truckstop, there are loads posted that you can use a 48
-
Many places use 48 but over 50% of the loads offered require a 53 from what I noticed.
-
How do you know if you got a good deal, If you don't know what you bought?
LandShark and BigBadBill Thank this. -
You should be alright running heavy groceries in the Northeast. It will get frustrating though when moron second week on the job brokers demand a 53' van for two pallets.
-
Or if he runs across any light freight that actually does require a 53 footer..
-
48 for local city work where you need every inch to maneuver thru the small roads.
