oilfield driving job question

Have you read any of the threads on oilfields? There are several. Search oilfields and you'll find several.

The answer is yes, you can, but you'll need to jump some hoops you might not want to jump.

 

The bigger companies like key and nabors will definately hire you. If you do some footwork you will find an oilfield job. The companies want warm bodies with licenses in there seats not highly experienced proffessionals.

 

You can get on with companies like Haliburton if you are willing to work other than driving. Just drive to job and then operate pumps and other machinery. Lots of work in OK as well.

 

Pretty much what you heard here. Maybe go to a school, move somewhere you don't want to be, do work that's not really driving, stuff like that. Your chances of driving with the kind of experience you have are better than mine. I'd stop thinking much more and just go to the region of the country where you want to work, if you can afford to live a few weeks until your first paycheck, if not, start applying at companies like the ones mentioned (and others) with yards where you want to be. Where do you want to be? Colorado, New Mexico, East TX, West TX, OK, ND, CA, LA?

 

Dammn straight you can. I recently got my CDL prior to heading down to Texas, and got a job, with no oil field or trucking experience. IF you want to work down here, you will find work.

 

Western Oklahoma is booming right now. You shouldn't have any trouble finding work there. Look up firestone trucking in minco ok. It's a small company and the owners seem like really nice people.
