If you are willing to call in unsafe drivers, don't forget to call in those drivers who are doing extra well. Those numbers are for both. Support the drivers demonstrating professionalism to keep them on the road and report those making the road a hazard to help get them off the road.

The trucking industry is under a microscope with politicians trying to "fix things" by scrutinizing those who are not trying to hide and punish them because they cannot seem to actually get out on the roads and find those causing the problems. It is sad, but it is politics of today.

smaggs, you are a good little boy with you zero percent.

so bill was doing 75 and speeding over the legal limit of 70. he could have killed someone, must have been the four wheeler that overcame him.

you both were speeding , and the truckdriver was the one who was a rectum?

and some of you really have an erection for truckdrivers, let me guess , you didnt choose to do this job, something else happened in your life where you HAD to drive to make a living.

    the difference is apparent.

Hmmm, must have missed in my rant that I had an issue with the speed. It is the complete lack of professionalism by a much too large a percentage of drivers.

Seems I struck a nerve. Guess someone has had a few calls made from motoring public.

I'd like to see a picture of idle at 0%.

The others I can see, but not the idle time. Because Operating Idle is included in that.

Yeah yeah.. pick on the easy target.. race has nothing to do with this, idiocy comes from all different backgrounds and has no color or race preference.
When you bring a conversation like this, you make us question your level of intelligence.

Sorry....I was raised by my dad to believe that truck drivers don't snitch on another truck driver.
It would take something really really terrible to get me to call in on someone.

no you havent struck a nerve at all. i havent had anyone call in on me, ever. i wonder why from post you would think so. i think after 32 years with no dings and never a damage claim, i dont have to worry about my professionalism. i was doing this before a good many of you could wipe your own behind.

actually , i drive around with my cruise set at 62 to 64 and that where the limit is 70. the last ticket i got was 59 in a 55, go figure.

and no, i didnt miss in your rant that you didnt have an issue with the speed, in fact that was what caught my attention.

i guess only certain laws being broken bother you, one has to admit it somewhat funny, that speed is ok just dont get to close to you.

i wonder if you considered slowing down a bit and letting him pass.

what really struck a nerve with me in the beginning was the original title of your thread.

bill, in spite of what you seem to think , a good many of us didnt fall off the turnip truck yesterday. but then you got it all figured out, lol.

we used to call guys like some of you dime droppers, that was when a pay phone cost a dime for you younger folks, perhaps i need to explain a pay phone also.

come on, bill you need to loosen up a bit . i hope i am still kicking to see how much some of you change attitudes after a few more years.

and i guess i am right about the difference in guys that choose to do this and those that had to do it and resent the heck out of the job and the ones of us that choose to do it and like it.

honestly thats how your original post came across and also some of your other posts, it like an unspoken thing that some of us dont have a clue what we are doing.

now that isnt to be taken as a knock or insult, it is the plain truth as to how some of your posts appear to me. i hope you understand what i am trying to convey.

Not a knock or an insult because I talk to O/O's all day long and honestly so many don't have a clue. They bought a job and have no clue how to run a business.

There is a bond between drivers because it is unspoken that we are doing something that serves many and few appreciate the sacrifices drivers make for this country. But that bond does not give anyone a free pass to put peoples life at risk.

I deeply love my family and have proven on more than one occasion that I will defend my family and other innocent people in this world.

Getting a driver who has no issue with driving at high rates of speed and to have less than 5'of distance between bumpers needs to be removed from the road.

In terms of slowing to let him pass, being a truck driver, I understand that it was safer for me to speed up to get around the three trucks in a row doing about 68. Some guy wants to be an idiot, I have no problem letting them get by me. No vested interest in being a statistic. Not an option here. And in several of the congested areas when speeds where below posted speed limit it wasn't an option either. But didn't stop these drivers from tailgating, cutting people off and making repeated, rapid lane changes.

As long as I own this business my attitude will be the same. If I ever see any of my drivers doing the things that we all see on a daily basis I will terminate their lease. No second chance.

Glad to hear that you are one of the small minorities in this business that can go for that long with a safe driving record. That speaks volumes. Maybe we would have many more like you if from the beginning people learned that we as professional drivers will not stand for this type of behavior rather than some silly code of silence.

Guess I just think my families, and your's, lives are more important than that.

Living in S. Florida I have called in many dangerous drivers, both in Trucks and four wheelers, some examples including several trucks going down the highway with smoke coming from the brakes on their trailers (a lot of our drivers down don't seem to know how to check or adjust their brakes and can't be bothered to look in their mirrors to see the smoke) a company van that was doing 25 in a 65 in the middle lane of the turnpike during rush hour while everyone else was doing 70+, and a neighbor that would come home on weekends to party (drugs and alcohol) and would leave to make his delivery sometime early in the morning while still drunk and high after loading his truck with cases of Bud Light (I called both his Company and various Law enforcement agencies and it took six months for his company to pull him in for a random drug and alcohol test before he was fired, law enforcement made excuses as to why they couldn't pull him over). There are many other cases that I have called in those are just a few examples.
