I like "box cutter" knives. I am lousy at sharpening knives, and worse at keeping them that way. Have also lost every knife I've ever bought, and usually don't take too long to do it. But I do use them enough to need something around.

LOL, well I am nominated to be the armory around my area for the zombie invasion.

When I moved down here I had a 8x14 Uhaul trailer loaded, literally. :biggrin_2559:

As long as it does the job, picked up a box full of the folding box cutters with real nice no slip grips. Paid like 25 cents each at Target in the got to go row.

    MrEd and SHC Thank this.

y'all ever concern yourself with the legality aspect? I never have yet but wondering if I should. Like for instance the five boroughs are ridiculously strict on knives, things of that nature.

A folding knife is legal in all states. It's when you get into the fixed blade knives that you have problems. Besides, a pocket knife should be just that, a knife that fits into your pocket.... Not a Rambo edition k-bar

Most states have a 3 inch limit or around there and it cannot be spring loaded. I have an awesome Benchmade knife (black series) that is spring loaded and I cannot carry it because its considered a 'switch blade'. I find it funny I can carry a gun, but not a freaking knife. Go figure.

A "spring assisted" and an "automatic" are two completely different things. I have both but leave the automatic at home and only carry my "assisted" with me. I've had it during DOT inspections, traffic stops and once at a border patrol inspection where they had me empty my pockets. Never a word said..... Now if u have an automatic, that opens with a button/trigger then the guy who sold you that is in more trouble because you have to be LEO or military to buy one.

I carry a matte finish Spyderco Bird and a leatherman multi on me every day, no matter what. Even in a suit and tie, they are both on me, I have a stainless byrd clipped to my pocket and the leatherman in my pocket. They are better than my AMEX card.

    SHC Thanks this.
