I had a 17 year absence from trucking & returned.
My DBL was good & always looked out for me.
The problem is Green Bay, who have to have their hands on everything that's done.
Many inexperienced people who don't understand logistics or trucking.
There were delays with dispatching freight, when the "work flow" system was put into place.
Drivers & DBL's had their training, but the folks in Green Bay, didn't & there were major problems that effected all driver's revenue.
Schneider started off good but through Green Bay my DBL'S hands were tied.
Short miles when I had hours to run, loads that were setup, by my DBL, were later taken away, by Green Bay operations, after my DBL was gone for the day.
I was lied to about those loads, that they weren't going to ready when I got there.
They were only taken away from me & given to another team or driver, who had a favor coming to them.
I wasn't given a replacement load, & was told "to contact my DBL in the morning".
Schneider is putting on many O/O's who tear trailers up, and don't report needed repairs, or get the repairs done, which they will loose time.
This also effects your revenue, when you have to get the repairs done in order to complete your assignment to move the freight, or travel many miles to locate an "mty trailer" for your next load, and run out of hours for delivery,
Bottom line, I wasn't making any revenue.
Worked 311 days for 2011, and my gross was just over 22,000...?
I made 3 of 6 "bonus'" the raise they told me I got was never applied.
Schneider works for some drivers, I wasn't one of them..
All you can benefit from Schneider is experience to "move on" to a better carrier to work for, if you keep your driving record straight.
Don't plan on making a career with them, they will drill you into the ground if you do.

You can please SOME of the people
ALL of the time.
And,
You can please ALL of the people
SOME of the time.
But,
You can't please ALL of the people
ALL of the time.

Bottom line with Schneider; or any larger company; is that if you get a good DBL who follows up on what he/she says they will do, you will have a more favorable experience with them.
-
Another question: I've read about folks saying hat if you have a bad training driver, that you could request a different one; couldn't you do the same thing if you have a bad DBL?
