What exactly does Schneider do different than alot of other companies when training a driver fresh out of CDL school?

Schneider has a great program. They cover enough to where you have a clue as to what to expect when they let you go out into the real world. As far as specifics go? Dunno.

If you get on with a decent driver trainer, you will learn how to properly plan your loads, pre-trip your equipment, safely back into questionable locations, and many other issues that come up while being a truck driver. If you get a bad trainer, you will drive for 11 hours a day, find pull-through parking spots, eat buffets every day, and never look in your passenger side mirror.

Pretrips and trip planning but one of the main things is training for the lifestyle of trucking.

I have been going back and forth on where to get my training. I narrowed it down to Roehl in Marshfield, WI. Then I saw this thread and wanted to ask if Schneider offers company sponsored training? I thought they didn't but I might be wrong. Main reason for asking is Schneider is the company I want to end up with.

Schneider's web site has more detail on CDL student training. After you get your CDL they have programs designed to get you up and running.

If you're looking to get your CDL then Roehl may be a good choice. The cost of Roehl CDL school is pretty reasonable however if you don't live within commute distance you'll have the cost of room and board during school.

    Freestyle12 Thanks this.

Schneider offers UP to 3500 in tuition reimbursement, according to their website. If you paid $5000 to go through school, it's help, but it's not all of it.
