Foundation Tax Services ( ATBS Canada )

Run away..

If anyone else here was a customer of ATBS Canada I'd love to hear if I'm the only one they got.

Admittedly I found ATBS to be incompetent and was keeping them on at this point just to perform my year end taxes, so I got burned bad by this, but ATBS is gone.

In there place is Foundation Tax Services. These guys bought ATBS's customers and were able to continue billing my credit card $179 a month for the better part of a year before I realized what was going on

These guys have done nothing for me but bill me. When I clued in I told them that I didn't want to be a customer and would like my money back as they had done nothing for it yet..

They have flatly ignored me. They will not reply to phone calls or e-mails.

They're keeping my money and I'm just glad I didn't send them any more of my paperwork / receipts..

I asked VISA and they said more or less that it's a small print thing . My original agreement with ATBS allows for this kind of thing . The only charges I can contest are ones that happen after I can prove that I requested cancellation.
In the future I won't bother with phone calls , I'll go straight to e-mail and save them as they constitute proof. If I had of started out with e-mail I could have contested the last 2 charges .

I'm using a local guy now ( who I should have gone to in the first place ). Office in the basement of his house type.
He doesn't deal with incorporations but I don't plan on that anymore.
There's a lot to be said for being able to stop by and see him face to face. So far I'm very happy with this guy, he answers the phone every time I call and never sounds like he's guessing... he's been a trucking specific accountant for a long time.
