Just sayin -
That one fella says he turns down alot of loads. Some of which they can not reschedule...Not a good practice if you can make the run...
-
I have benn driving since 1990 and what I see on these threads are drivers who know more about complaining or computers than they know about the trucking industry. I am sure some complaints are true and then again you got to consider the drivers attitude..give me give me give me...
I just rehired with Mcleod after taking 4 months off so for anyone wanting an idea of what trucking here is like just ask me,I will answer your question best as possible, my answers might not be right away cause I drive more than I get on computer. I will try to post my trips every 7-10 if possible.
Oh yah there were only 2 drivers in this weeks orientation..One local driver and me the road driver..hum...beats 30 drivers in orientation at a major company.. every driver I met this week has been with mcleod longer than 9 months..alot of 1 yr and 2 yr drivers.
ok started the week off with load on wednesday
Decatur,il(wed) to Cherookee,Ia(thur)
Aurelia,Ia(thur) to Toledo,Oh(fri)
Columbus,oh(sat) to Danville,IL(mon) hometime
oh yah forgot to mention Im on E-logs now..didnt take but a day to get use that little device. -
Wow bb not too bad mileage wise there!! I know there promise a weekly guarantee if you make all your deliveries on time..so thus far have they given you plenty of time?
-
the second load from Ia to Oh was a little tight on time before receiver stop receiving, but I made it 2 hrs before they closed on friday. So far if you cant make a delivery on a load you dont accept it and they Usually work it out and either give u something u can legally run or they reschedule it or drop it and get u something else after dropping it. Big thing is communicate and dont throw tantrums.lol
Cash33 Thanks this. -
Gotcha! Thanks!! Also I have heard a lot of negative on here about their equipment..how true is that?
-
If the trucks are junk as some drivers put it ...then its because they treat them as such...give you an idea.. I had an engine code come up while I was in Syracuse,NY on friday and Im getting it fixed on Monday at the yard. so they do fix things that need fixing if you communicate with the shop and dispatch.. communication is key..treat em with respect and you will get the same back... be a good driver and they will do their best for you ..be a bad driver and well you get treated the same.
