I am not being rude to you.
You do not know what was actually said to him. Or what contracts he signed.
Still have the contract for the schooling you will see the hotel bill. A person has to be careful what they sign for.
Old saying buyer beware. The younger generations have no concept of that statement.

TLea, they live in Forney, so he probably drove to school. However Mandy, all you have to do is call payroll and bring it to they're attention and it will get fixed.

The worst thing a student can do is sit around and listen to people talk about how bad a company is. Once something goes wrong the student automatically flips into "omg I should have listened its true".
So is your husband going to bail from every company that makes a payroll mistake or has a driver that says the company is horrible? -
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

I am a past Alliance driver with Stevens Transport. I had to quite the company because after one (1) year of OTR my total in pocket profit was about $1600. However during the year the truck made over $120,000. Stevens is a very bad deal. I think that if I had stuck with the company I could have made more money, but during that time I lost a car, had no cell phone because I could not pay my bill. I just could not afford to stay with it. I am a retired person, with a working wife and a retirement income and Stevens dang near broke me. I don't see how young drivers can make it. Another aspect of the company is the time away from home. I'm over 60 years old and married for over 40 years, so it's not that I just had to get home, but living in a box on the back of a truck for over 9 week is not safe. Sometimes you need home-time just to rest up. I also found Stevens will treat you as if you are a child. You will have to do things to prepare for a trip that other company's don't do, because if you don't complete the trip plan and something goes wrong, even if it's not your fault you will have to pay for it. Everything at Stevens is Pro Vicarious Liability for the company. That way they are protected and you as the driver will be left holding the bag. I came to Stevens with my CDL and past OTR driving experience from another company, and I still had to go through training. In training I didn't have to study for a test because with each test all the answers were provided. That way if anything happen while you are driving for them it is your fault, and the proof is that you as a driver scoured 100% during your training. Please stay away from Stevens Transport.

I also find that hard to believe,If I am not mistaken I think there are about 900 lease
Drivers for Stevens, I would think the L/O are making Money, You have to treat it as
a business, like Construction or any other Business you owned, and not Blow all your
Money on Lot Lizards.Nuff saidTRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Then later, you stated you would not do alliance, as it was hard enough just finding where you were going.
As I always susspected, those who can not handle the details of OTR become safety directors, from another one of your posts.Dryver and Knew B. Wannabee Thank this. -
I made and error it was 35 days with my first trainer in OR-1 and a total of 56 days to complete OR-1 with my second trainer. And you are again right that I did say that I wasn't going Alliance, but I changed my mind. I wish I hadn't, but it is what it is. All I know is that Stevens wasn't for me and I didn't make any money. I am no- longer at the company. And as a safety director, I'm home every night sleeping in my bed and getting paid. If I offended you or anyone else, I am sorry. And due to your post, I'm signing off. Wish you well.
