Hell a lot of showers are sparkling clean as if they just built it and I was the first one to ever use it.

I always check the bathrooms first. If they can't clean the sinks then they can't clean the showers. Only place I've been that there was no way I was showering was at a Pilot in PA that has a sheety motel attached to it. And I had to stay at that hotel overnight once. Worst sleep I ever got.

Don't let them scare ya driver! Most of the showers from major truck stops are clean...maybe I am just lucky but I have yet to come across one that made me disgusted...oh ya one more thing if you ask the cashier for a shower and she says go ahead and take the key I won't charge ya...don't do it!! It means they haven't had time to clean yet and are just being lazy...a free shower is not worth it!! Lol

What's a shower? Are there really places to drop a load In side those barns that sale fuel? I thought they were just places to pay for grub and buy junk that never works. LOL

After 8 years in the Navy and having to wade through raw sewage to get to a shower, I haven't seen anything at a T/S that bothers me.
G/MAN Thanks this. -
I got plantar warts from the gym shower back in high school. My rule is shower shoes for public showers now.

In reality for the most part, the shower rooms of the larger top 3 are probably cleaner than your own bathroom. They get cleaned after each use so that is a lot of bleach! Also the way the clean them is pretty intense too! A lot of them literally get entirely hosed out and sprayed with disinfectant.
You will learn which truck stops have the best showers and also the most unique! There are some secret ones out there with large hot tubs, full vanities and all the amenities! You will also figure out which ones to steer clear of! Like one of the first posters said, stick with the top 3 truckstops, this will be your best, safest bet! When you do run into those extra immaculate showers throw a little on the counter! I usually leave a little something anyway. Those people really have a crappy job and even a little something probably makes their day. Even if its a lotto ticket or free coupon etc... They work hard and get dirty so you can be clean!
