That's not a bad idea. But, by announcing it. They get the people who are just determined to keep POS running, regardless.

Just like the check points for drunks that have signs up. If you're so drunk you keep going. You need to be took off the road.

The rest area on I-40 around mm324 in NC is wide open those days. I went through there last year and set there for around an hour before the trainee came over and started inspecting me. Had a load of shingles I had to tarp and for some odd reason I strapped before I tarped it. His first question was "shouldn't there be something to keep that stuff from moving?" Decided not to be a smart *** so I didn't get a ticket.

    OK..question...
If all you need is the current day and the previous 7,how could a DOT officer tell if a driver was cheating by tearing out pages from his book by counting pages..
or is this just an urban myth I have heard (that drivers havd gotten in trouble for only having 28,27,ect pages in his book because he tore out pages)
I ask because I never have had to tear out a page or needed to as I have kept legal(or tried to be reasonably close)

That goes along with what I tell drivers on the CB that always ask what the scales are doing. I calmly tell them that if they run legal then they shouldn't be concerned with what the scales are doing.

Nu-uh. I met this one guy who heard about a guy who read it on TTR that Snopes said Mythbusters proved that the DOT secretly take a page out so they can write you for impersonating a truck driver so it must be true:biggrin_2558:

Or maybe it was just on the CB:biggrin_25522:

not old myth didn't have loose leaf logs back then only book and the would look to see if pages missing.then they gave us loose leaf and made it easier to cheat.didn't need two books just keep backing it up

So you guys always started a new one on the first of the month so they could count the days? What did you do if you misplaced a line and had to start over? Hell when I was on paper I wrote yesterdays date at least twice a month ripped it out and never had anyone question where that page was.
