I was arrested for DUI in 1984, I took a 1st offenders program which amounted to a nolo contendre deal. If I was not stopped again in 5 years there would be no record of any conviction, but if I got stopped again in that 5 year period, I would be working on my second offense.
I never got stopped again so now that 28 years have gone by, I just answer the questions the application asks. Some carriers ask if you have ever been CONVICTED of DUI... I answer No, some ask if you have ever been ARRESTED for DUI, I answer yes, Some ask if you have ever FAILED a drug or alcohol test, I answer yes, Some ask if you have ever REFUSED a drug or alcohol test, I answer no...
Just tell the truth and answer the question they ask. Usually there is a place to explain briefly what happened.

Takes money... but look into it.
I don't know if your attorney gets it thrown out if it will wind up on your MVR? -
Did you get this in Texas? I was caught doing something much worse than that more than twenty years ago and they let it go down as defered. My record was cleared after the very strict probation. I always answer NO and I've NEVER been asked about it. I think a great attorney is in order. If they can get you cleared somehow it would mean YOUR STILL PAYING TAXES WHICH IS WHAT THEY REALLY WANT. Mine carried a 10-50 year possible prison term. Texas will many times base this on how productive of a person you are or could be. Just to give up that is not the answer.
REMEMBER A CHEAP ##### CAN GET YOU OFF A CHEAP ATTORNEY CANNOT!
Those big companies go through drivers like water, you can't tell me they won't hire you! Hell some of the driver I have seen for the big companies look like they are driving the rig drunk. They / some will hire you.
Are you stuck working at the bottom of the barrel, kinda. Is this where almost everybody starts yes!
This is where you find out if your worth your weight in salt, right?
Again good luck, I remember that feeling and it is still a bit scary even 20 plus years later.
