Does anyone know if Millis offers team driving? Also I see that they have regional job postings on job websites but I can't find any info on their website about regional. If they do offer regional do you think it is possible I can get a regional route straight out of training?

I'm in training with them now. As far as I know they do not have team drivers. As far as regional goes it looks like you live in Dayton and I do know they have regional routes thru there. Weather or not they have any available is another story. However I have talked to a couple of the drivers and they stated they got regional right after school so it's definitely possible.

Alright thanks for letting me know. It is good to know students have can go regional after training. Are you going through training at Trenton, OH or the Richfield, WI one? How is training going so far?
-
In Trenton. Only 2nd day but it's been fun so far.

That's good to hear and am glad you are having fun. I will be starting in Trenton as well. I should be getting a call fom Alice sometime soon to let me know when the next available class is. Good luck with training!

dayton is a good place to live for regional. but why would you want that?

This probably would sound stupid but I am kind of nervous about the whole being away from home for extended periods of time. I don't think I have ever been alone for more than a couple days and that is what's worrying me. I have not been able to develop independence since I have lived with parents most of my life and then moving out to live with my girlfriend. I definitely want to be a truck driver. Maybe OTR might be better to break me out of my shell and away from my comfort zone.

well trsining will do that for you. i am not going to lie it is hard being away from loved ones. so why do you want to be a driver then?

Not Trying to be harsh by no means...just putting it out there.....be sure your girlfriend is absolutely cool with this choice....family at home suffers just as much if not more than the drivers out on the road. I have seen it not work out for a lot of drivers due to it causing conflict at home. I went thru it as well but mine came to the realization that trucking is what I do.... It's never an easy battle though...most women give the ultimatum of choosing them or the job...so make sure everyone at home is is aware the the time away from home and that they are acceptable to the changes. Your time out with your trainer will put it all to the test!!! Good Luck!Ajv1987 Thanks this.

Everyone is being supportive of me. My parents are happy for me doing something I want to do. My girlfriend is going through schooling for a bachelors degree which causes her to be constantly busy. Most of my life I have been a passenger in my own life by letting go of my wants and dreams to make the person I am dating happy. I know that if I continue down that road I won't get anywhere or anything but regret. I have always loved driving in the past and roadside views while driving. I feel that it is time for me to find my independence and finally create a life I can call my own. Something that I did to look back on an think "Oh wow I did this!" I am mainly going into trucking because I lost myself and to go find who I really am. I guess what scares me about trucking are the reasons why I want to do it if that makes sense.
