Ok ,Please bear with me here all.
Monday night doing a night move with a super load I had a major problem.
Will not get into details right now on open board. I will say I messed up. My fault.
So cutting to the chase. The people I've been with for just over 10 years has let me go. Reason failure to follow company policy.
So here I sit trying to decide 1 of 3 options.
Do I look for another carrier
go out on my own or
just put the trk. and trl. up for sale and then maybe get off the road all together??.
I've been doing heavy haul work from 6 axles up to my current setup of 13 axles.
Getting old. 52. Well not that old, but been driving since 1977.
Just kinda venting here some, but also looking to hear from somebody who might have been there done that, got the video.
Thanks
at a cross roads

Was your mess up big enough $$$$$ to prevent you from doing HH for someone else decent in the industry? Your question might answer itself unfortunately. Can you afford to sit on the equipment to get the right price, or will you have to fire sale it, or worse owner finance? Good luck.

Well it was a damage claim..
No I believe I can still get on with another carrier..
Several good trusted friends have told me to call certain people and I more than likely could get on with those compaines
I am not in the position where I have to do seller finance..
No fire sale either.
Would sell if buyer has their own financing..
Just kinda thinking out loud on the board and seeking opinions. I know what the rest of the saying is on that..
first big claim in a long long time. Not even any small claims... -
Well today is a new day. Allready got 1 call from person who is interested in taking me on.
Filled out an app. with people I know who we worked at another company years ago.
Have decided to down size my trl. size. just going to go back to a 3 axle lowboy.
Less hassles with it.
So a new door has opened and I will see where this journey takes me..Last edited: May 18, 2012

Good luck with the new gig. Downsizing sounds like a good idea, simpler is better these days.

I was going to say step back to a 3 or 4 axle trailer. Not sure how you guys deal with the BS that goes with super loads.
