I don't think we've sat for more than a few minutes! Except for Monday when my trainer was on light duty. If it wasn't for her visiting the hospital, we wouldn't have been sitting then. They tried to give us another load while we were waiting.

Well that repower had us coming back to Cali. Now they are trying to find us an empty reefer. We got one of those funny preplans - Stockton yard to Stockton yard.
Just got a msg to pick one up at the Stockton yard...LOL -
Well, one thing I've learn in all my years of trucking is: It is what it is.
You can try as hard as you want, but most times you can't change what it is, so you just have to deal with it and not let it bother you.
Long story short, I finished orientation on Wednesday and I was the first guy to get activated and to get a truck assigned at about 1 pm. Anyways, its 9:45 pm the following night and I haven't turned a wheel yet on this shiny new Pete.
Way to much to go into now, and I don't want to air it all out here because I don't know all the details yet and maybe never will.
Lets just say it appears that what my dedicated fleet assignment was supposed to be and what my fleet manager wanted me to do seem like two different things and now I guess corporate is involved.
Really?!? On day one??? Seriously?!?
Oh well, like I said, "It is what it is."
I'm not going to let this little bump in the road get me down. I've been doing this long enough to know better. Everything's gonna be alright and tomorrow is another day.
Good luck fellow USX drivers and have a great day!SheepDog Thanks this. -

Sheesh, it's always something with this guy. Today Goofy drove on my log. The guy has absolutely no attention to detail. And it was only for half an hour but it wrecks my 34. Safety says it can be fixed, but of course the guy who does that is not answering his phone.

What a Doofus

Well I got my "rookie break-in" load, it was a real whopper.
It loaded Friday in University Park, IL with a delivery scheduled for Monday morning in Rolla, MO. Nothing like having a whole weekend to do about 7 hours of work.
I decided that wasn't gonna get it, so I set up to drop last night at the drop lot in East St Louis.
Kind of a gamble hoping to get a load out of here on Saturday, but the weekend dispatch came through and I'm on my way now to get a load going right back to University Park. It's not much, but its way better than sitting on that other load for two days.123456 Thanks this. -
I thought you had all this co-driver stuff squared away.

I musta not been paying attention.

Once we get this load delivered we should be getting a load home. I'll drop him off and hook up with the new one after home time.Wedge Thanks this.

sorry i havent posted in awhile.. so training is going ok.. my trainer is kinda a lulu. we got our first load in colton,CA and took it to sumner,WA. after dropping that off at costco we headed over to the shell station and waited for another load. 8hrs later we get a load from the kent,wa drop yard back to costco 15 miles REALLY!!
then we drop that and go back to the shell station and wait another 9hrs and right as we jump in the sleeper for the night we get a ER load pick up ASAP in sumner,WA and take it to columbus, ohio. so after being up all day my trainer goes to get fuel then we go and get the load and i jump in the seat and off we go. but just remember i have been on his truck for 5 days and have 22hrs behind the wheel. so we take off and i drive and drive and loving every minute of it. now we are sitting in madison,WI and they had us do a re-power cause were out of hrs so we did a 34. now im at 58hrs of my 120 and now my trainer is taking home time next friday for 3-4 days and my fiance is pulling away from me fast.. and they want us to do our upgrade in irving at the same time. i finally told my trainer that either he stops Fing around like he does and gets me off this truck and get my hours done or ill go find another trainer. the finishing dept called me friday morning and asked how many hours i had so i told them and they pretty much went threw the roof (not at me)... i have a feeling they are going to take me off this truck or not give him home time.
