before i had it all internalized, i just wrote it on my logbook cover. there really isn't very much, because we don't use all of the different sizes and grades of equipment that are out there.
-
I lost my cargo securement book. I'd like to find another one. I have most of the info written down somewhere and I have a different book, but the one they gave us was a lot easier to read and understand.
-
Been looking for this book for like 2 months and found it in the one of the compartments under my bunk. Not quite sure how it managed to get down there.

Training wasn't very bad at all.. the double logging (paper and e-log) kinda sucked but it will be helpful down the line when you need it. Sitting at home after a trip from Illinois to NC, then NC to Fl. All in all it's been great. Even got a truck with an APU! lol
skyviper73 Thanks this. -
Scott and Bob are great trainers. I was in Bob's truck but they are both excellent. I tried to take the knowledge that i already knew(even though ive never driven before) and add it to what they were telling me. It really is a fast passed course and you really have to pay attention and be dedicated to the job or you might not make it. Took my test yesterday, passed it. Got a perfect score, 0 on pre-trip, 0 on driving and no pull ups on my backing. Guess all my studying payed off. Bob owes me a steak dinner now lol.

Good Job! Congrats. Just wish they would call me. I took physical last Monday and they tell me to wait on their medical officer. I hope Monday to hear. I need to get work
-
Nice job! They used to offer that dinner back in 2008 too, none of us got it, though I came close.
-
If i can remember right it usually takes a week or two for them to get back to you after your physical. But when they call they should be setting up your start date then. Good luck!Freestyle12 Thanks this.

mike, that "Practical Cargo Securement" book is mostly good, but it contradicts federal law in two places: how many straps to put on dressed lumber, and how to secure a palleted coil against forward motion.
you should compare the cargo book against the FMCSR in those two places, but only the dressed lumber section will give you an illegal load.
