sounds like the mexis havent changed much --- we allways swapped out the trailer tires before the drop to some baldies then had to change them back on the trailer we picked up -- and they like to borrow the bulbs too sometimes lol -- canada is ok to run in except customs can be slow at times --use to fax the paperwork to the brooker before we got there saved some time --its just part of the game and just have to deal with it-- sounds like the guys on here that went through the process are satisfied with the company wich is good to hear -- there is no perfect company and shippers and recievers will allways be like they are sometimes you run into some crap and sometimes you dont just have to deal with it --- just want to get the ball rolling and get through the next two months and get going lol-- my girls birthday is june 1st and the kids wanted us to wait till after that so i have another 2 weeks to go -- was ready last monday - tired of worring about getting through the school allready and i really cant see where we would have any problems at all but the worrying will still be there -- well had some good news my aunt lives in dallas and my mom was thinking of driving down to see her might be able to bypass the greydog

good to hear the coffee is good at the academy, speaking of though, is the hotel like walking distance from academy or what ? anyway sound like Laredo is a place you want to get out of before you even get there. 11 hours on tha bus...I don't think so, been there, done that an it sucks, gonna fly in...still stoked yet scared and will prolly get more intense as the 11th ain't that far away but bottom line it gets me out of this current job which the BS oozes an the stress level is off the charts...oh by the way, do FFE trucks have inverters on board or do they allow them ?

skinnerz, define "walking distance". its about six miles from what i remember. some ppl call that a nice little stroll, others consider it a death march. in hot weather, i would avoid walking and wait for the shuttles imho
and as an fyi, Spat wait for the lady who sells burritos, she rolls in around 1200-1300. 4 for 5 bucks! thems good eats, right there! -
Read somewhere that FFE will not (or cannot) train people from Illinois. Any truth to this? Something about Illinois DMV or the Texas DMV, not sure.
-
Illinois has special requirements. so far as I know, if you live in Illinois, you have to get your cdl there.

I know what you mean buckeye I am finding it hard to believe that I am finally going to be heading to school. I have 8 more days left at work. 2 weeks from this morning we will both be in class in Fort Worth. It looks like I will be arriving at the motel some time sunday afternoon.

i know looking forward to my last day at work and be nice kinda knowing somebody when i get down there , one more weekend and thats it 8 days of work . there starting to mess with my girl at her job now she gave them notice last monday --doing the right thing doesnt allways bring the best result but she only has 6 more days of it . she was in line for a promotin and a raise so they were upset she was leaving but even at the training pay she will make 50 more a week than she does now -- i am taking a pay cut during training but when we get out it will be about the same or somewhat better -- since january i would have made more at mcdonalds than i did working -- so of course it picked up after i decided to hang up my tool pouch ---too little too late -- its been 5 yrs since its been decent in construction --during that time 7 contractors i have worked for went bankrupt -- dont want my name added to the list-- its not a good feeling when your waiting for a check and insted you get a letter from the bankruptcy court wanting to have a claim filed on the company that you were waiting to get the check from lol --well i allways said i wanted to get back into driving when the kids were grown so i guess nows the time to do it . I know its far from a vacation but we want to travel and see the country and i am not one to want to stay around anyone place too long --- just driving through is enough for me -- of course you go where and when they tell you to --- but you get to go to places that you wouldnt think of going on your own-- and some of them are really nice --some not -- just like the food terminal at hunts point in new york city every city across the country has there version of it -- but there is nothing close to being like that anywhere -- sure it can be a hassle and wouldnt want to run it every week -- but its an experience thats kinda hard to describe to people thats never been there -- theres the recievers that sometimes dont seem to care if they get there stuff or not and certainly dont give a crap about a truckers time -- so there is quite a bit of crap that we will have to deal with from time to time and theres the dot , we will have the only job where they punish you for working too hard ==speeding log book ect. but the good will out weigh the bad if you want it too --- might not be too worried about speeding in a 62mph truck most of the time lol --plus with my girl being with me the home time isnt going to be an issue -- i had little kids my last time out and thats hard on you and thats why i got out of it -- we have family scattered over the country that would be nice to see every once in awhile even if its only hay we are at the flying j come on up and i will buy you dinner
