I meant the peak and tune plus amp, not the rfx75 mod with a amp.

Oh ok lmao. I was gonna say "magic smoke". Though, the rfx looks like it would be a great driver for a 4 pill linear. Don't get a peak and tune with the kl 203. You want to reduce the dead key. Not increase. Like big m said, no more than 2 watts. Ideally don't want it to swing past 18 tops.

Thanks guys. Done had it peaked and tuned. Got a newer 29ltd but the guy doin the tuneup said older one was the one to hotrod(biger fials-better rec chip.?. ). He also said to run a texas star or same kind of amp. Just seen the kl's were cheap. But sounds like I gotta detune. Just new to the hotrod cb thing. But I wanna go big now. Lol.

My thinking is I don't always use the amp. If a radio doesn't have adjustable power, then I have it added. (Did this when I ran cobras) Then I can turn it down and use the amp, or turn it up and not use the amp. Best of both worlds and the only way to go IMHO. (Been using a KL300 with a Mirage 9900 for years now this way.) Have my Galaxy 88 and Connex 3300HP with just the hi/lo pwr switch set up this way also, works good.

If your radio is set to high something going to die an early death. That's with any set-up.

They are small. About the size of palm of your hand. Packs a very nice punch. Great little amp for slip seating too! Just don't over drive it!!!

Slowly Adjust L13, L10, L9, L8 until Dead Key power drops to about 1-1/2 watts. You don't have to adjust all.
