It doesn't matter where he's from, it was just nice to compare notes with another driver that has knowledge other then driving... even though he's a limey. :biggrin_25514:

Sounds good to me mate. I will be doing another 7 rounds so they say, 1 a week. So will be up that way for a while yet. Even longer if the wind doesnt die down here in Tx so we can get unloaded tomorrow!

    Hey guys!
Been awhile & glad yer a/c's are working well for you guys.
Martin, Iv'e worn the Dakotas & Texas out as of late but haven't seen ya...been looking tho.
Lost a wheel bearing in Cheyenne, Wy. last week ($3 grand for road-call, axle-doctor, etc.) and the trailer is now in the shop getting the other 3 wheel-ends serviced, along with 4 new airbags. (Another $2800.00) I will never run sealed/greased bearings/hubs again! Can't check em w/o taking them apart. At least with oiled bearings you can check the oil. Know this doesn't have anything to do with a/c's but just wanted to say Hi!,,,and snivel a little.
    C-ya!

I was thinking about using a window air conditioner mounted in the rear wall but was concerned that it might not last. Any experience using these units?

    Quickfarms,

I have had 2 & neither one lasted more than a few months.
Several guys I've talked to had the same problem.
This is not a good option!

A stand-alone room a/c works ok for the last 2 years in my truck, & only requires a 5" hole in the floor for the vent. (H/Depot @ appx $400.00)

Are there any good wall mount options out there? I can not run a roof top unit due height.

    mxpx148 Thanks this.

    Holy crap Rob!
Sorry to hear about all that mate.
The a/c is working great. Matter of fact, it is currently still 92 here in Ks, and I just had to turn the thermostat up a little, it was 62 inside the truck!
Working it out roughly, if the outside temp is around 85-100, it costs me 1 gallon of gas for 5hrs of ac and battery charging. Works out to 1gallon of gas = 5 gallons of diesel at a high idle! The money savings are truly unreal.
The EU3000 seems to want to trip the overload when it is getting low on oil, which is around the 100hr interval on mine. So when it trips, I just change the oil. Takes @10 minutes and .6qt of Castrol so not a big deal IMHO.
My single biggest regret is that I waited so #### long to do it. Have @$3500 in it all, including the generator, rooftop unit, breaker, mounting box and drawer slides, etc etc etc. I truly do love it.
Many thanks again Rob for the "push" in the right direction and endless advise on the fone.
