Got a call this afternoon, my recruiter told me I was accepted and when I wanted to get started. I told her May 21 would be good for me because I will try to get a part time job and get one pay check to get enough money to cover me while im in the program. She told me yes okay just call her by the 14th to get the bus ticket ready and everything. I will be in soon, I feel happy because I got accepted even though before I was feeling down cause I thought I was not going to get accepted. I plan to succeed and become a professional driver, and try to stay with Prime for the longest I can. Wish me luck everybody I will be in soon.... :)

There will be a lot for me to learn. I read alot through this forum since January, but was looking for the right company to go with. Through Prime's forum I see a lot of helpful information, and how the training is. Last year July I went to Miami to see my sister. By my sisters house there is a truck driving school called Metropolitan. Its like a 3 minute walk. I went inside just to go get some information. The lady there told me about how the program was and it would cost about $780 for the school and to get my CDL. So I studied and got my permit and went there. I had put a down payment deposit starting at $100 and everyday I would come I would pay $100 until I was done paying. I didnt stay there for long only a week because when I called my brother and told him I was in a school, I told him everything about it and he told me that I might not get hired after I complete the school. So after I left and didnt continue and would not start and pay if I knew thats how it was. There I only got to learn how to drive 10 speed transmission, spent 2 hours driving it learned all the gears quick. But didnt have a problem because I already knew how to a drive manual transmission but the difference there is was double clutching and more gears. I also had got a chance to do a straight line backing only 3 times didnt see it was difficult because I didnt hit no cones. And the last thing I had got to learn was Parallel Parking but to the left side. After that I left the school after for what my brother had told me. 3 days later I went back to Orlando, did a little more working. So I talked to my brother and told him that I was now starting to get interested to become a trucker. Then one day when my brother came down, he called me and told me to come meet with him by a Kmart. I went out with him for a month couldent stay longer because I had bills out at home, but got a chance to learned a lot out there how the trucking lifestyle works but it was fun. So later in December he called me again and we was talking, he had just became O/O and told me if I would get my CDL he would team up with me, I told him I would think about it. I then later I called him back and told him ok I wanted to get started. He told me he was currently training a good friend of his. So in January I thought the best thing to do was go to a truck driving school and get my CDL. I was searching online and found this forum and searched through all the good companies. Made a list but Prime always came in first in all ways. So until now after eliminating companies off the list Prime Inc came to be the first and the best for me in my opinion. I went in and put an app and it came down all to this. Now I will be going on the 21st of May. I will do my best that I can to learn and get my CDL through Prime. I think truck driving is a wonderful job, I hope everything goes ok. Thanks to everyone that gave me advices and support on this thread, I hope to meet yall someday. Thanks and stay safe..

Havent been on this thread for a while, so im going to give a little update. I was suppose to go on the 21st of this month. I was fully ready to get started, and was about to go, but had a big problem that had stop me. My oldest brother who was going to attend orientation at CRST on May 6 called me and told me he was really sick. He was sick for a week before the date for his orientation, so he couldent go to orientation. He called emergency and the took him to the hospital there he stayed more at the hospital, and was getting more and more sick. After that he said he felt better so his wife came and picked him up. Next night he had pass out at his house, they called emergency again and rushed him in the hospital. This time he couldent even talk nomore, could not walk, doctor told me he had a serious problem in his liver and it would be hard for him to eat. So I went down to go help him in Miami, told my recruiter the problem and that if she could put it for June 10th and she said okay. After I couldent stay, went back but always contacted him. Then yesterday afternoon I got a call from his wife :( , she was crying on the phone so I suspected something. I was asking her what and what, but she couldent tell me yet. Then she finally told me that my brother past away in the hospital. At that moment I lost control, I was shocked, I didnt know what else to do, I dont know how this happen, and it happened quick. Now I'am to sad to even work, to even drive, to do anything. I will try my best to get going on next month if I can, on the 10th of June. Before I go I will let ya know, will be around soon, stay safe out there..
