Don't mess with my route. 14 hours is 14 hours. I am exempt from the 16 hour. They got the point.

I drive a day cab 175 mi. each way (350 total) and was wondering if I can shut the truck off at 16 and get a motel, or do I need to return to my terminal before the 16 hour hits. Thanks

#4 Must be given 10 hrs off before next on-duty status

A hotel is not your home terminal, neither is the sleeper.
The 10 hrs off is a real issue as most dispatch have short term memory loss and expect you back at work at 6AM after running you til the wee hours the night before.
