Negative. The 203 is perfect as it is. The radio gets matched so as to produce a fully modulated carrier from the amp.

Now back to the poster's subject, Volvo 670 cb and antenna

I run a 630. With just a little bit of time you can run a new coaxpretty easily. The body panel right in front of the door comes off with 8-10bolts and exposes where the coax goes into the truck and then into the mirror.I just got rid of the dual antennas and went to a single on the driver side. Iused the old coax to pull the new through under the dash. You can get itthrough if you take off a few more panels inside and don't mind scraping yourhands up a little bit. Either way be aware there are some zip ties that holdthe coax in places so don't go yanking on it too hard or you might be pullingon other wires. I ran the wire up through the mirror like the factory, then outthe top of the mirror and to my bird perch, so it's only visible for the 10inches on the top of the mirror, and once secured you can barely see it. FWIW Irun a Stryker 490 and a predator antenna, and my Stryker is in the overheadconsole, only sticks out about 2 inches.

"Big m is the one who recommended me the kl203."

Yeah but it could be a sting operation.

Whatever the PEP is you should divide that by 4 and dead key no more than that. 101 Watts dead key for this model is a very improper way to run it.

"Shrug. Dunno. That's what the meter shows."

40 watts dead key should be correct, 50 being the maximum. Otherwise the 4 mosfets are hard saturated switches outputting a signal which looks little like the input. You need to match your radio by lowering it's dead key.

That's how I set them. Rather than a whole multi page peeing contest though (and off topic) I'd rather just say "You do it your way and that's fine, I do it differently".

    Back to topic:
Rgh, seems you could do a mirror mounted antenna of some sort and bring the coax in through the mirror arm or lower mirror housing where it attaches to the door.

    Rgh662 Thanks this.
