I am sure I speak for all Veterans when I say that while your thanks are always welcome today is not the day for them. We have a day set aside for us in November. Today is a much more solemn occasion.
Today is about those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Today is about those who gave the last full measure of their devotion. Today is about those who left but never came home. Today is about the heroes, our brothers and sisters in arms who are lying in honored glory in all four corners of the Earth.
Today is not a day to say thank you to a Veteran, today is a day to say a prayer of thanks for those who gave that we may have.

The fun just never ends.
Decided to be proactive and arrived at the shipper without an appointment being reset.
They aren't shipping today.
They took an extra day off.

I know where my gremlins went

Now it is my turn to wait, and set and wait... 400 miles away from final, for Friday, 0500. CSR refuses to reset appointment, and me trying to phone ended up with a round of computer phone tag... Never did get a human.
Will see what morning brings, as I set here and play on the computer, read my kindle, watch US Express use the parking lot as a race track.... And it is raining.KMac and Rattlebunny Thank this. -

Can anyone tell me what all the physical requierments are at stevens..blood pure..eye sight..weight..any other stuff I might need to know
-
You just have to be able to pass the DOT physical requirements. BP liess than 140/90. If you are over they will treat you to get it down. Sleep study within 90 days if you fall into the risk group based on sleep habits, BMI, 17" neck etc. Pass drug screen and be able to fit under the truck with the full aedodynamic package... in other words, about 18".
Going through it now. I am 6'1" and about 275lbs and I fit.
Hope that helps. -
p.s. - eye sigjt corrected to 20/40 I believe

Well I sat at the shipper all day, along with a Central Refrigerated that was in the same boat as me.
Finally, around 1400, the shipping clerk took pity on us and had us both back into the door and he loaded us with the admonishment, "You never saw me do this".
Which is true. I sat in the truck and took a nap.
Rolled last night, made it to Hooker, OK where I'm waiting for my 10 to be up, then off to Winslow.
Load is due at 0300 tomorrow.
Guess what won't be there!
I figure I can make it by 2000 tomorrow, so we'll see what everyone does.
From the looks of the sky, we should get some thunderstorms this afternoon, however I'll be down in the section of the country that's trying to burn itself down...and won't see any of that rain.
From what I hear, the locals are practicing the old 'scorched earth' policy.
If they can't have the land, neither can the politicians!
(oops! did I say that?)
