I have an intl 4300(dt466) thats used both on and off road that keeps running hot. I was wondering if anyone knew where i could find a heavier duty radiator that would fit this truck. I called Detriot radiator and didn't know for sure if they could help they are supposed to call back this week. Any other ideas?

The way they stuff the radiator and CAC side by side in those things doesn't leave many options. Very poor design in my opinion.

I usually spray mine with good oven cleaner and rinse out with hose. Just cover chrome and paint with some plastic. Amazing all the junk that washes out.

i doubt that that old 4300 has a side by side setup. that was back when a truck was a truck!!

Yeah, I forgot about those, haven't seen one in years. I was thinking of a later 4300.

Dumb question, but have you already taken everything apart to make sure it is clean?
Bought my truck in Feb. 2010 from a guy who ran a hopper behind it. Ran it several trips a couple hundred miles from home to make sure everything worked OK after all the normal/obvious checks. Rolled out across New Mexico in April only to watch the water temp rise. Long story short, called the previous owner about it & that is when he told me they used to load ground calcium inside a building. Everything was plugged inside. Cleaning helped a bit & used the stuff the A/C guys use. Take it all a part as much as needed to make sure you can get to things properly. That lime packs in there like concrete with only a small amount of moisture.

I had everything apart last summer and had the radiator cleaned out by the local shop, which helped for about a week. Then it just kept getting warm like it is now. I forgot to mention its a newer 4300, its a 2003.

I've washed it out many times usually 3or 4 times a day when it was hotter out, never tried the oven cleaner

Does the fan spin up good ? May need a fan clutch. Water pump and T-stats in good shape? Does the engine have good power or seem to be laboring hard to do the job?

    limespreader22 Thanks this.
