How bad is the CR England Truck Driving School? Particularly the one in Richmond, IN if anyone has been there. I already know that there are other schools out there that are better. I just want to know about CR England.

I heard CRE Is trash..

Truck school is ok, The place to work for is not. They promise miles and yes, they give them to you, but they also offer plenty of sitting time. being paid by the mile means not muh pay.

Do a site search . The real bad part is many trainers . Then if you make it past them you are pressured to be a Lease/Operator which will put you deep in debt very quickly .

Rick_C Thanks this. -
I have considered CRE school because of price .. if you pay cash it says its $1995.00
I would assume that you are not obligated to work for them after you finish school if you pay cash.. Would that be correct ?
I also have no intrest in leasing from any company.. The wife and I are planning on training to be a team..
My other question is will other companies accept their school training program as good enough..such as US Xpress or Prime ect?
Do most schools train husband and wifes seperately or together in a truck ? -
I went to the England school that was in Spartanburg SC before being shut down. It got shut down for low attendance, which is what made it an actually decent school. Classes were small and good. Don't know about the other schools.
However, that being said, do NOT work for them! -
Your thinking of going to cr england because the cost that's understandable I agree. Why not look into a tech school and find out what they charge as I paid about the same with all three endorsements you'll come out better off in the long run even if you have to finance it or just pay it in full if you have the cash. I'd'e ask em what type of equitment you'll be learing on as you'll want a class a truck and atleast a 48 ft trailer to tug around and not a pup trailer. I have a friend that works for england and he's leasing and as soon as he drove the truck off the lot it broke down as it was never maintained and he's in the hole to them he's thinking of training to get out of the hole. I thought of going with them but they tried getting me to lease over the phone before I put an app in!! Recruiters are noting but used car sales people they will tell you what you want to hear and not what you need to hear.

I am looking into a Tech School ... thanks ..I have no intentions of working for CRE or JB Hunt,PAM,Werner.. I'm slowly weeding out the ones I know we don't want to work for .. and making a list of ones with possibilities... Prime, Swift...

Leasing for any company is not of any intrest to me at all.. unless someone could seriously convince me differently and I'm not talking about a recruiter... I have my doubts that my mind could be changed on this issue to be honest.. I have read way to many horror stories about leasing .. Especially a newbie.. I believe I read the failure rate is around 80% and I dont have anytime to be part of that stat... Thanks

it's good your doing your research. i would not lease from the company i worked for your just a company slave paying there bills. go in as a company driver first tear up there #### for te first year. another thing you have to think about is how do you know truckings for you how do you know you'll want to make it a career. bust your butts and save every penny you can and go buy your own truck with trditional finacing. people have lost there ### leasing a truck from the co they work for. yes recruiters are just used car sales people and there job is to sell there training school. your not to far off on the fauilure rate of leasing a fruck from the co you work for i think its a little higher if i'm not mistaken. and another heads up is england has been known to send people home saying theres no company trucks available trying to get em to lease the truck. you'll come out better off going to a tech college than with a traing co as some companies will give someone a chance might be few but its alont better than the ones you mentioned up above and a tech college is more regulated by the dmv as well.
