Well I am ready for sweeps week.
TA found the air leak. Had to replace my hub
Then had to replace my drive tires...all eight. They varied from 3/32nds to 5/32nds.
In the middle, all 8 were down to the wear bars. One tire was cupped pretty bad.
How in the world did they let this off the yard. I asked about them, but was told they were 'fine'.
Put new Bridgestone 720's on.
Guess I'll have to keep this thing now...I have too much invested in it.

Be glad you got off the yard or you would be stuck with michilan recaps.
I use an ATT air card for my laptop, and just type away on my blackberry.KMac Thanks this. -
Good Luck with the DOT checks this week.
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Unkl L - Looks like I am just going to miss you. They told me to be ready to be dispatched with a trainer on Saturday.

Hubby and I have a broadband device and a Verizone MiFI, both work well, the broadband works better when the truck is actually rolling, MiFi for when we are stationary. Had a netbook thru Verizon for a couple of years that worked well too.
KMac Thanks this. -
Why has Stevens not gone the super-singles route?Last edited: Jun 5, 2012

They did, but due to drivers lack of care for the tires, it was costing the company money, in tires, down time.
-
Also, even though properly cared for, some of the tires were 'separating' and they cost a fortune to replace, especially since you can't get off the road before damaging the wheel as well.!!! We checked our tires daily for pressure and wear, yet had one come apart on us when we were going through the toll booth just outside of Gary, IN. The roadside service call, tire, and wheel cost $2000. And replacing one tire of course causes uneven wear on the remaining 3, so we had to have them all changed the next time we were on the yard.

They tried them and they SUCK. Expensive and unsafe.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.
