I'm looking at a new to me truck. What do ya'll think.
2007 625 CAT, 2250 torque 18spd, 46k Rockwell 3.58 rears 570,000 miles
It just had a turbo and head gasket done. One owner, and I've known him for 10 or so years now.
Obviously, this a complete change from the 12.7 Detroit/13 speeds that I've driven since 2002.
Anything I should know about this drivetrain?

The guy I run for has a 625 and he loves it compared to his isx 600. No problems until head gasket at mid 500k. I would suggest tuning as a must, I have a mild Mr Haney 2ws and make him pretty mad on every hill. I believe a stock 550 would pass it and cat claims its fine. I'm sure a touch from mr haney and it would be ideal.

The factory tuning on all the Acert's are crap, doesn't matter what the factory hp level is. You'll have to ask Kurt but I believe the 625's never get as good mileage as the 475/550s but I'm not sure why since the only difference is the top turbo and a slight difference in compression ratio. 18:1 vs 18.5:1. I think the rest of the motor is identical. Either way with a stage 1 tune they run awesome and you can bury your foot in it as long as you wish and the EGT's won't get over 900*. Highly recommended.

I'm a bit hesitant to do this deal as I'm a Detroit guy and the mileage is a bit of concern, as well as the truck brand it's wrapped in. The Coronado is nice, but it's still a shaker. What can I expect out of the Stage 1 tune as far as power to the wheel and an increase in mileage?

It believe it is 2050 ft-lb don't think there was a 2250 option but I could be wrong

700 to the ground and fuel mileage will depend on the truck/driver. There's a guy here that got 6-6.5 with a 550 MXS in a 379 pulling a propane tanker. He loads on the scales and is 80k every trip. He didn't gain any mileage with the tune but was WAY nicer to drive. If the mileage is already good you probably won't see any change, some gain 1/2 to 1mpg. I don't know anyone who got the tune and regretted it even with no fuel change because the power is great. Mr. Haney will definitely be a bigger help with this.
