I went to the CRE school last November. I am already an experienced driver but I took some years off and let my CDL lapse. It was a quick and cheap way to get it back, with clauses. I'll start with the bad first.
1. Very high failure rate. In my class of 30, 4 of us passed.
2. CRE does not care wether you pass or not,,,, they get paid from the government for each person who comes through their course.
3. Was very tough living arrangements. Had a perpetual problem with bed bugs and we got ate up.
Now the good:
1. I went during Thanksgiving, they offered a special for $995. I later paid it off for $500 cash settlement! (They thought i had skipped out but I just quit CRE and went with another company)
2. It was a very quick way for me to get my CDL back. I was unemployed and starving
Hope this helps

some people survive the school each week

most companies train husband and wife seperately. If you can stand being apart for thirty days its cool cause then you can be teamed up together.
If I were you, I would ask if my wife could have a female trainer, and if not, then could she wait till they have one for her. I would not, I repeat not, allow my wife to have a man trainer. -
If you aren't planning on working for CRE then I would not attend their school. Who knows what they might do when you left.
