I remember my old boss telling about the SD DOT I90 Scale back in the 70's. Seems they would issue tickets no matter what to certain out of state drivers every time they crossed the scale. Well, someone finally thaught that enough was enough... and at night they blew up the scalehouse. Completely leveled it using T-N-T(no person was hurt but the scale house wasn't so lucky... LOL). Anyone else remember this?

I remember there was talk, back when I drove a service truck about a driver who blew by kewanee scales the police chased him to Al. before he stopped driver took the guy's gun threw it in the woods and locked him in the trunk of his car. This was in the 70's. Wouldn't be a bad thing now.
-
Yeah...Now fast forward to today...Remember the Steering Wheel Holder who held the DOT at the Ft. Collins coop with a pen knife?

-
Heard stories of the COOP getting " BLOWED UP" sort of took it with a grain of salt
-
Please take this with a grain of salt, but i talked to 3 different eople and they heard that the DOT, cops, etc were going to set up on Saturday night and Sunday AM.
Some of this was due to anyone knowing it coming, and then they do surprise ambush inspections. It could be, would not put it pass them. .... -
Yeah, as far as I know it DID happen in the 70's, in South Dakota. My previous boss was a driver back then, and the scale was big time corrupt... For example, they would write you a $100 citation... or you could give them $50 in cash on the spot... Where do you think the cash went? Well, one night someone blew the place up. Which is very possible as there were a ton of explosives being brought into the state in the 70's for the Homestake Mine.

(I didn't get pulled in, but I was out all three days...and nights)
