Thanks, it does make sense, sounds like that is exactly what i am in search of. I have ridden as a rider in some friends trucks, and did enjoy that type of lifestyle, just want to do it myself now instead of being an observer

Just graduating from the school this afternoon. It's a very fast paced three weeks designed to get you yohr cdl. The weeks out with a trai er is where you will learn bow to drive a truck. All in all its been a good experience for me. I had a med hold for 2 1/2 days for a bp issue, that has been cleared.up and I was able to catch up with the class.

We started with 31 people, 10 are graduating today. Some quit, some were dismissed, some rolled back a week... many reasons but if you want this and do not come in with inrealistic expectations, you should do fine. Good Luck!

    Kodataw and TRKRSHONEY Thank this.

Might finally be back at the yard today. took two weeks of circles and can you believe that they made me pick up a load in Ft. Worth to bring back to the yard KNOWING that i would be late for the pickup. here i sit and wait, hour #2 and no rocking yet, pfft...

I might head off the yard for the weekend and try again next week

Oh the love to make the new guys pick up something to bring to the yard. And usually you will spend all day waiting to get the load. If I am due on the yard, as soon as I am empty, I go to the yard. I send a qc message the day before asking if they need a preloaded trailer or a empty trailer dragged to the yard. If I get no reply I head to the yard and laugh when will sends the message okay come to the yard as I pull into the gate.

Still no repower. Pulled into the TA columbia NJ. The place is deserted. The back lot is empty and the old idle air is maybe 1/2 full. Maybe tonighr or saturday. What really sucks is I can not get a 34 hour reset before delivery. OnlY 30 hours.

I will be gone before you get there. Meeting my Trainer at a local truckstop bright and early.

    Best of luck to you!

Im not trying to be negative, but keep up with they people that made it to graduation. See how many last a year. Heck, see how many make it past training. Out of about 35 that graduated May 2011, one guy is still driving for Stevens. Two have transferred into the shop.

That's cause trucking isn't for everyone. Some don't realize it till they get out there.

oooooppppssss, maybe I should not have mentioned gizmo... for he is back with me... apu now does ALT in cool mode... going to be a long hot weekend. Belt is still in one piece and tight. Oh well, asking to go home anyway, as I won't be able to drive soon if I don't get back and renew my license... get it fixed then.

Stevens expects 98% of graduates to be gone by the end of year 1.
Nascar found himself a trucking job that he seems to be happy with, and he hangs out here too.

Me being a gypsy type sole, or is that a wanderlust sole, alliance and stevens is working for me... Would like to see some changes, communication being the biggest one, along with some actual management, instead of fire control.

And I feel like a mushroom most of the time whenever I need a load. Why are they such a secret?

And Emuslfied, what is the secret to being repowered all the time?

Now while in North Platte, road rescue was quite helpful in finding a glass shop to fix the nasty rock chip I got in the construction across I80 in nebraska... 45 minutes and the crater was gone. $45 was the total bill.

Going to be lots of time to hang out on the internet for the next 3 days... first drop is sunday, 250 miles away, and final is monday 48 miles after that. I can pray for a load needing help, even if I don't believe right?
