Incredibly descriptive, very detailed experience that makes anyone outside CRE appreciate their job. It made me think when you mentioned that they pair up two students with no experience to train-team, it really made me think especially after i saw an England truck upside down on I-80 last week. This is criminal, they exploit this poor clueless souls for less than minimum wage on their way to getting the governments check.

Yep. Sounds about like my experience years ago. It's nice to see things don't change.

Wonderful thread, sad, not surprised, to see they haven't changed since I was there, down to telling people they could take the CDL back from the DMV. Just look into ATA and see who is in charge.

That's why I say follow the money. How did Dan England manage to land that position with the way his company conducts business? Must be all that Mormon integrity.

Wow... I feel for you. At least you got out, and onto a better job. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders.

I work for a big company, and have never been hassled about getting the truck fixed. I call, I get sent to get it fixed. Your post has made me appreciate my company more than I already did.

    BigMuthaTrucka and NavigatorWife Thank this.

Not to mention the lessons taught as a direct result of penning this post.
The author has been there, --- done that, --- and now writes about his C.R.E. adventure for all to read.

HeY! We read all of yours, ---- keep readin' ----------?

Well there ya have it OnTheBackroads, Near as I can tell, the Standard 10 Scale Rate-0-Meter Popularity Indicator puts your score right about 14 or 15. Hard to tell when the needle is bent plum off the dial. I ain't nevah seen nothin' like that before.

    A hearty W E L C O M E to the forums.
    And a personal thank yew!

For years I've been askin' for someone, ANYone, to explain how to successfully survive the Sons-0-Chester school of Big truck truckin'. I'd 'bout given up hope that I'd ever receive an answer, when lo and behold, what do I find when I least expect it?
    YuP!
Your outstanding and long awaited post overloaded with details on how you managed to git-er-dun where (too) many have met their Waterloo.
You sir, have made my day.

If y'all are doin' research, or are just wonderin' how to work the C.R.E. system to your advantage, you really owe it to yourself to read OnTheBackroads ENTIRE post and accompanying comments. Pre-Trip your emotions and open your mind, eyes and ears and set your status on LEARN. Until OTBR wrote of his personal C.R.E. experience, ....... and his thoughts along the way, ....... there were no reports with such graphic detail as seen from the inside lookin' out. If not right now, you will, no doubt, come to realize just how fortunate y'all are to have the opportunity to know the rest of the story that the Sons-0-Chester neglect to mention. Something known by many as the TRUTH. The truth might hurt, but it is what it is and shall remain as such. If y'all were considerin' makin' reservations for your own C.R.E. Adventure, but hadn't chiseled your decision in granite yet, the information contained within OTBR's post could provide the straw that broke the camel's humpback. Actually, all this is an absolute MUST READ for ANYone thinkin' 'bout gettin' into the Big truck truckin' industry. ShuX! Even those already in the industry could benefit too.

I have an image to protect and a reputation to consider, ..... so I don't offer answers or advice or suggestions unless it's reliable, beneficial information. IMO, this is the real deal. And if, after readin' the entire thread, y'all aren't totally and completely satisfied, I'm sure OnTheBackroads will cheerfully refund every cent y'all paid for it. Maybe even double the amount y'all paid. Y'all got nothin' to lose and everythang to gain, --- so why ain't'cha readin' it right now?
    Don't keep readin' my silly ramblins-on, ------

I drove for CRE for almost five years. Oh, the stories I could tell. Someday I might write a tell all book that you'll find at the cash register at the Flying Hook.

The rookie who rolled his truck within his first HOUR of being behind the wheel is a good one.
