My tarps do a great job of keeping part of the trailer clean...

I am sure this question has been asked but with more experience comes more or better answers. What are the good and bad points of flatbed versus reefer or tanker? Is Prime providing enough freight to keep company and lease drivers busy and making money ? I live in Md between Baltimore and Harrisburg Pa so how good is the freight in this area as far as getting my home time ? Are there problems with keeping your equipment secure while at truck stops ? Thanks for the input everyone.

Good points: You get more exercise, you have more to do with the load, you get to haul cooler freight
GENERALLY you dont sit as much. Still happens, just not quite as much. Usually get treated better by shippers/receivers.
Bad points: Youre out in the weather no matter what it is. If you screw up and dont secure proparly, it can fall off the trailer and kill someone. Theres a lot more responsibility hauling a flatbed.
Prime has kept me moving since I got my truck. Sometimes I have to wait a minute to get a load, but not much.
I havent had a problem with securing my equipment.da1 Thanks this. -
No, not really, but it's good to watch where you park.
If you adjust the way the tarps are rolled up they will all fit inside the big rack/box on the back. I also cut the chain hangers out of both sides so they don't chew up the tarps. I'm not sure how much they will charge to repair that, i'll just put them back in when I turn in the truck.da1 Thanks this. -
