I pulled a OS OW load from South Carolina to Miami down 95, as the permits and scales were all open I had to go in the back to be checked and weighed, permit checked and all the good things. I even had a scale master stamp my permit and that is not common and was told good to go driver.
Nothing to report negative, just many stop and starts and talked to every scale master in three states.

I think that is good of you, if the drivers are not happy with a new truck they truly need to find a new job.
-
Very non event again this year for me. Every scale I went by was closed from nebraska to mass.
-
It nice to know you're such a friendly person.
-
LOL well it was not my choice at all, the states are really cracking down on bootleg or others using permits twice. I always am nice to DOT and they are never a problem.

I really would like to keep my 09 Cascadia over a 2012. I fear in July/Aug, I will be forced into a new one whether I want to or not. He trades them off at 500K miles. I am at 481 when I got home today.
You get used to that trucks personality and can work with it and feel it as you drive it. IT's not just about a new paint. It's a new personality I feel. -
Yes well over the years I have had a lot of trucks , some you like others you wish you never sat in , these 2 drivers are on a dedicated route ( Mon to Fri , hotel room on Wed , preloaded trailers on both end of the run ) and customers contract states that the truck be of a certain age / mileage so if they like the job they switch trucks or go over the road or down the road.

Somethings to be said for that....
Sounds like they enjoy the job too.

Ok, been home all week, did I miss anything? Every year I am either at the house while this money grab is going on, or I'm just starting a reset and miss most of it.

there was a flying saucer shaped load all wrapped up in white at the scale on I44 around St Clair MO. IT was being guarded by a sheriff's deputy. Saw it in the AM and in the PM when I came back through that afternoon.
The scale was all closed up east bound.
