Bestway Express Vincennes Ind

I worked there for 2.5yrs. Bad company the father died in a plane crash years ago the kids are taking over and have no clue really. They are learning but dont get how to handle things with their drivers. The shop and trucks arent that great they are buying new, but the main office shop is no good they blow money. You might like it at first then youll notice they get stupied and you'll be looking again. My opinion.

 

I wouldnt waste my time with Bestway friend. Look for a company that will pay you good money based on Hub miles. Sure Bestway will dazzle you with the nice lunches at orientation time. But dont let them fool ya. They limit your miles and time between runs based on the governor set speed. They pay a nice 'low' wage of .32 pesos per mile. Same rate as Mexico pays. Its the pay rate Liberals prefer. Bonuses? Okay, whatever. I guess they got to make it look appealing since their pay rate sucks. Basically in short - come work for us so we can make more money off of you. No touch freight, but if your load bounces around from poor road conditions - they will fire you. Even though you didnt load it. They promise freight, but they definitely DON'T promise quick turn around time. I mean hey, afterall; we as drivers love sitting in some company dock down in North Carolina where it takes them 6 - 8 hours to load you. But Bestways response is 'be patient'. Drivers are NOT making money unless the wheels are turning. Duh!! But be patient while you are waiting on the phone for your dispatcher. He's out getting some of that 'company catered' lunch while you wait. U can leave a message on the answering machine. But dont expect Mr Mark Cummings to return your call. He doesnt know how to check an answering machine. He's busy playing Tetris on the computer. Be sure and be easy on your fuel. Gotta save Bestway money that they will never pay you in wages. Their motto ought to be "Making money, at the driver's expense." Oh and while you wait at the Ingles dock to be loaded or unloaded (which takes about 6 - 8 hours). Peoplesoft is eating up your remaining hours, even if you are in the sleeper berth. But hey Bestway DOESN'T care! As long as the dispatcher is at home by a decent hour to watch Jeopardy, you just keep waiting there at the dock. Amazing. The people out there making money for this company are the ones LEAST appreciated, and the least respected. Bestway is out to make money at your expense driver. That is a fact.

 

Top Gun-I'm sorry your experience at Bestway was not better. When we hire new employees we always hope our company is the last one they work for.

 

You did not address any of Top's complaint's.
Would you please elaborate on the issue's presented.
Ie;
Are those detention hours being compensated?.
Are your drivers suppose to sit all day loading or unloading then expected to drive all day or night?
How does your compensation package work?.

 

You have had over 9 hours to respond mae60rk.
Whats funny in less then 2 weeks iv seen multiple carriers show up on this forum in response to negative threads .
Not one has owned up and truly apologized for their egregious actions towards another human being/beings .
One went so far as to post a drivers dac report that included info only available to a carrier subscriber of hire right.
That's right drivers you don't get the exact same report they do .
Nor have they stated how they would right that wrong most significantly when the violations are clear nor have they expressed how they would correct those actions so as to prevent them in the future.
In doing so they have stated that their greed over rules the accepted morality of society along with the rule of law.
Their dirty deeds appear to them to be operating on some under skirt of society that no one can see and that they think they are exempt from prosecution .
I'm here to inform you corporate Employee's and owner's that you indeed have something to lose .
Your freedom . You are not immune and at the very least you will begin taking responsibility for your own actions just as you expect your workers too.
All scumbags will be identified and tagged accordingly .
