That is NOT pre-tax. I said take home. 5000 miles, which is a pretty slow week for a team, equals $1,200 gross each. The student pay for the first 8 weeks for the same miles woud be $950 gross.DaReallyst Thanks this.

We could live on that
-
That would be nice, but.....it is only a .32 split (.16 each). At least that's what we were told in orientation.
-
You are correct, I had the wrong cpm for the first eight weeks. That would be $800 gross each for 5000 miles. It is only for eight weeks. Keep your eyes on the goal. And for heavens sakes, stop worrying about mountain driving. You know what to do and all you have to do is go slow and don't allow anyone to push you. USX does not require you to chain so if you feel unsafe, stop and wait it out. You will not get pressured to drive f you feel it is unsafe.
-
When they issue you chains, simply put them away somewhere......did that for two years...LOL........but I only went to Colorado and Montana once in the winter.
Actually, Craig, my first time to Colorado I was about a day in front of you when you were training.....I had to laugh at your description of leading the parade up that road in the snowy conditions.....when I came through the day before there was no snow. -
Hey y'all. Spent the last couple days at Markham getting my trainer class done and getting a little work on the truck. Got the truck all washed up and then decided that I needed to do a little real work since my girlfriend didn't get in to orientation this week.
They had me repower a load right out of Markham and take it to Cincinnati with an 0530 appointment time and it was supposed to be stacked with a PP going to Houston. That meant that by the time a drove there, I wouldn't have enough time to take a 10 hour break at the truck stop and then get up and be to the customer on time in the morning. Also, I couldn't wait and leave later and arrive just in time because I would need to have a fresh book to get going on the Houston load. Of coarse no one there answers the phone when I called to ask if I could park at their place overnight and I couldn't really tell from the satellite picture on the internets so I took a chance and went there to find out. I must be doing some good clean living, because I arrived at about 2300 and they had plenty of parking right outside their gate, they even woke me up in the morning. I then proceeded to finish out my break while they took 5 hours to unload it.
It turns out the Houston PP they promised me must have been the "ol' bait and switch" because that never came through. I ended up with a 2 stop p/u load with a d&h delivery in Hammond, IN for today which is okay with me. It only took 30 minutes to load at the first stop and then I get to the second stop and there are trucks lined all the way down the street and I only need 7 pallets. Oh well, so much for the good time I was making.
The best news this week is that my girlfriend got the okay for orientation on Monday. I'd love to do some local work and lay around the motel with her in the evening while she's there. Mike, the dispatcher for the Markham terminal said he has at least one guy on vacation next week and could use the help, but we'll see how that all works out. Even if I can't be there on Monday, I definitely would like to be there on Wednesday when she's ready to go. Three weeks apart seems a lot longer than it is...
Have a good one, everybody! -
Team average for us is 4,300 per week for the last 18 weeks.
-
Why have you had breakdown issues or home time?
-
we wouldn't know what to do if we run that hard for that long.

we've only ran 148,000 miles in the last 14 months thats what 2466 a week avg.
